then i shot this video north of where i'm at in a bottle. it's not as frost on these cars. it is ice. that is what a lot of people are going to be experiencing especially here in the north bay with temperatures plummeting into the north bay. there are some reports we could see it temperatures in the teens. there is a very day today. today is not the bay are going to be able to read it's been called for the past five or six days. to meet this fills colder than any of those other days. there is no wind. not a cloud and the sky it is cutting through cold.

the freezing cold temperatures results in some homeless deaths over the past few nights. at least five homeless people have died over the last two weeks. the most recent death happened behind an empty storefront on village parkway in dublin. police found the body of a man at around 12:30 friday afternoon. many outreach workers we spoke with say they are working hard to steer people into shelters. since november 28th, four homeless men died while out in the cold in santa clara county. three where living in homeless encampments.one in an open air garage.

the deadly asiana airline jet crash at s-f-o. >>anny: federal investigators to interview dozens of experts and witnesses this week to try to determine what caused the deadly airplane jet crashed at sfo. officials with the national transportation safety board already have named several possible factors in the crash that left three dead and 181 injured. those include problems with the boeing 7-7-7's automatic throttle and communications issues among the cockpit crew of the south korean airline. but even if the board's hearing tuesday and wednesday in d.c., tightens the focus on those factors, many experts already believe human error was to blame. 49ers got a huge victory

now to the latest on the worldwide mourning of nelson mandela. yesterday marked the beginning of one week of memorial events honoring the former south african president. flowers and memorabilia have been set up all across south africa. mandela died late thursday at the age of 95 wednesday and thursday, mandela's body will lie in state in pretoria. a state funeral is planned for sunday. president obama and the

tracking a another cold morning. >> earlier this morning we drop down into the teens in petaluma. we have plenty of low 20s but now we have bottomed out and the temperatures are not set to drop any more. it is very frigid at 21 degrees out the door. it is a little cooler closer to the west porto area. we have actually seen some of the coldest on readings but we still have the freeze on and on till 9:00 a.m. this morning pripet the national weather service is scheduled to reissue the freeze warning tonight into tomorrow. this will impact mostly everyone to keep them on the coldest readings are between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. this morning. i want to break down your afternoon high, the winds will increase.

the merger of american airlines and us airways has formed an air travel giant larger than the current industry leader,united continental holdings.-- the deal cleared a series of legal hurdles, including an antitrust lawsuit from the justice department. the new company will be called american airlines. passengers likely will not see effects of the merger immediately. they will continue to book flights under the american airlines and us airways brands. ticketing and frequent flier programs are expected to be combined, at the earliest, in 2014.

eight major tech giants, many from the bay area, have called for tighter controls on government surveillance. the companies, including google, facebook and twitter are joining forces to argue there should be reforms in the way the united states snoops on people. they issued an open letter to president barack obama, saying that while governments have a duty to protect citizens, recent revelations have "highlighted the urgent need to reform government surveillance practices worldwide."

clara county are lowering their adoption fees. as part of their " home for the holidays " campaign there are looking to find more dogs and cats families of their own. cost which normally range from 90 to $120 will be dropped to just $12 through new year's eve. the fee covers pay and neuter clause, microchip, shot and other costs. the shelters hope to find homes for more than 1300 animals for the new year. the country's largest professional wrestling event is coming to santa clara in 2015, along with thousands of wrestling fans from around the world. santa clara mayor jamie matthews and the san francisco 49ers are set to hold a news conference tomorrow morning to announce a major event at levi's stadium in the spring of 2015. word is that event is wrestlmania 31. an event that draws in fans from around the country and even around the world. that could bring 60,000 wrestling fans to the bay
